Mr. Thomas received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tarleton State University in 1996. He then attended the University of Oklahoma for his Master of Health Sciences degree, where he graduated with distinction in 1998. Once his training as a Physician Assistant was completed, he began work in emergency medicine but quickly transitioned to cardiology. Mr. Thomas has focused his skills in Cardiology and Electrophysiology for the past 10 years.
Mr. Thomas has a keen interest in advocacy issues for patients, the general public, and his profession. He has dedicated considerable effort and time towards research projects which improve our understanding and the treatment of electrophysiologic issues. He has also worked on a local level to improve education and awareness for sudden cardiac death and defibrillators. Mr. Thomas has served as a board member of the American Heart Association in Tulsa.
In addition to his clinical role in patient care, Mr. Thomas has championed the use of physician extenders across the United States. He has delivered numerous lectures to physicians, administrators, colleagues, dedicated to the appropriate expansion and implementation of concepts to help with this country’s growing medical demands. In 2005, as recognition for his outstanding achievements, he was awarded PA of the year for the state of Oklahoma by the OAPA (Oklahoma Academy of Physician Assistants). Mr. Thomas has served on the board of the OAPA and served as president in 2008.
